How to Apply
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine offers a five-year residency training program leading to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Physician trainees develop competence in all aspects of modern otolaryngology as well as the communication skills necessary for the compassionate and effective care of patients from all backgrounds through supervised experiences in private and governmental hospitals.
Visiting Students
Medical Students interested in rotating on the otolaryngology service at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine should complete a Visiting Student Application Service application. Students interested in applying to the Otolaryngology residency program should register for the OTO-4101 - Externship in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Application Information
Our department participates in The Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and National Resident Matching Program. The deadline for submitting an application every year is Oct. 1. Particular research training or clinical training interests should be highlighted in the ERAS application and discussed during an invited interview.
Interview & Appointment
Approximately 60 individuals are offered interviews for four available appointments. Resident selection is based on the application and the personal interview.
Each resident entering the program, given acceptable performance and progress, is assured a position for the duration of the program.
